USDA Commodities Program

The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a federal program that helps supplement the diets of people with low income by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost. USDA provides 100% American-grown USDA Foods and administrative funds to states to operate TEFAP.

TEFAP provides United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) food commodities to low-income families and individuals living in Newberry Springs, Daggett, and Yermo.

Each month, the Community Action Partnership San Bernardino County, (CAPSBC) and Mojave Trails Outreach & Food Pantry volunteers distribute the commodities food for the Newberry Springs service district.

This program is available to anyone within our community below the income eligibility limits, and has not received USDA food for the month.
